Problems we can help with

If something is hurting or has broken, it is better to get it checked sooner rather than later. These are the problems patients most often call us about.

Toothache

Throbbing pain, sensitivity to hot or cold, or pain when you bite down can point to decay or an infected nerve that needs attention.

Swelling or abscess

Swelling of the gum or face can be a sign of infection. Call us promptly. If swelling affects your breathing or swallowing, call 999 or go to A&E.

Chipped or broken teeth

A sharp or broken edge can often be smoothed or repaired with a tooth-coloured filling. Larger breaks may need a crown.

Lost filling or crown

Keep a lost crown safe and bring it with you. We will check the tooth underneath and advise on the next step.

Knocked-out adult tooth

Hold it by the crown, not the root, keep it moist in milk and call us straight away. Time matters with this type of injury.

Broken brace or wire

As an orthodontic practice we can usually repair a broken bracket or poking wire. An emergency orthodontic adjustment is £55.

What happens when you call

  1. Ring us early
Call 020 8656 6959 from 9:00. Tell reception what has happened so we can find the most suitable slot.
  2. Assessment
A dentist examines the problem and takes X-rays if they are needed to see what is going on.
  3. Relief first
Our priority is to deal with pain or infection, either with a definitive fix or a temporary repair.
  4. Your options
If you need further treatment, we explain the choices and give you a written quote before anything starts.
